The program pairs a business or organization with a nearby elementary school. They provide a bag of kid-friendly food to nearly 1,600 elementary school children each week at 45 schools. The children receive their food on Fridays so they have food on the weekend when there are not eating meals at school.

Beacon House offers after-school programs as well as free meals for low income children and teens during the school year. During the summer they offer a summer camp with free breakfast, lunch, and a snack. This program is for DC residents and proof of income may be required.

This food pantry distributes free canned and fresh foods, as well as emergency supplies to low income families in southern Prince George’s County. They also provide assistance in applying for food stamps, job searches, coaching, car repairs, and families facing homelessness.

This program offers free meals (breakfast, lunch, and/or snack) during the summer to children 18 and under in low income areas. SFSP sites are set up throughout the DC Metro area and parents can call 1-866-3-HUNGRY or 1-877-8-HAMBRE to find a location near them.

 Linkages to Learning is a school-based collaboration among the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Montgomery County Public Schools and non-profit, community based service providers. The program provides accessible services to at-risk children and their families to improve adjustment to and performance in school, home, and community. Prevention and early intervention services include health, mental health, social services and educational support.
